『パトリシア・ウルキオラ』、『アルド・シヴィック』、『ルドルフォ・ドルドーニ』、『カリム・ラシッド』など世界中で活躍する若手から有名デザイナーまで幅広く起用し、常に斬新なデザインを生み出すと共に、その素材にも積極的にこだわり、独自の世界観を見出している。他と類似することのないデザインの革新さやヴェネチアングラスの伝統を守る傍ら、技術の革新においても、世界的に高い評価を得ている。

Appointed designers active all over the world (from young to famous), Patricia Urquiola, Aldo Cibic Rodolfo Dirdibu, Karum Rashid and etc. They bring out orgina designs using new materials and finding their own view of the world.
Regarded highly for orginal design, maintaining tradition of Venetian glass and technical innovations.

日本語で「金のコンパス賞」。1954年ジオ・ポンティの発案によりイタリアのデパート、リナシェンテによって品質とイタリアデザイン向上を目的に創設された、世界で始めての工業デザイン賞。1959年から主催はADI（イタリア工業デザイン協会）。ADIは、1956年ジオ・ポンティ、アルベルト・ロッセリ、マルコ・ザヌーゾ、アウグスト・モレッロらによって設立。賞は、在イタリア企業が製造した製品、そしてデザイン関係の文化活動に、3年に1度（現在）贈られている。黄金分割ラインを描くためのコンパスが、賞の由来。完全な美を達成した工業デザインを讃える為の象徴として命名された。FOSCARINIの「Mite」は2001年の金のコンパス賞を受賞している。

The ‘Golden Compass Award’, is the first award given worldwide for industrial design. Suggested by Gio Ponti, established in 1954 for “Quality of products and progress of Italian design” by La Rinascente (department store) in Italy.
Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (ADI) (established in 1956) by Gio Ponti, Alberto Rosseli Marco Zanuso, Augusto Morsello, and etc. has sponsored ‘Compasso d’Oro’ prizewinner 2001. Foscarini “Mite”
